Split airport, also known as Split Resnik, is located in the municipalities of Kastela and Trogir in Croatia. The volume of its passenger traffic makes it the country’s second busiest airport.
The number of private aircraft movements (jets and helicopters) is also on the rise to satisfy the needs of a clientele attracted by Split’s World Heritage sites, but also by its port and industrial activities.

SPLIT AIRPORT HISTORY
Split airport was built in 1966 and had a growing traffic until the war in Croatia. At that time, from September 1991 to April 1992, it almost ceased to operate and served as a NATO and UN air force base.
Reopened as a commercial airport in 1995, it underwent a major facelift in 2005.
Located 12 miles away from Split’s city centre, the airport can be reached by car, but also by boat (ferry and water taxi), limousine and taxi.
